NUJ JIGAWA STATE CHAPTER COMMEND FG FOR SUCCESSFUL ROAD PROJECTS

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Jigawa State Council, has commended the Federal Government for the successful rehabilitation of the Kano–Dutse–Kiyawa–Bauchi road.


 Describing the project as a major boost to safety, mobility, and economic activities across the state.


Our reporter confirmed that, the commendation was made during a media tour and commissioning of the completed emergency repair works, led by the Chairman of NUJ in Jigawa State, Comrade Ismaila Ibrahim Dutse..


Speaking at the site, the NUJ chairman said the road intervention has ended years of hardship, accidents, and delays experienced by commuters and transport operators, noting that improved road infrastructure directly supports journalism, commerce, and rural development.


Comrade Ismaila Ibrahim also praised the quality of work executed by the contractors and acknowledged the role of the Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as well as the Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, in prioritising critical road projects.


Officials of the Ministry of Works explained that the project, completed under the Federal Government’s emergency intervention programme, was awarded in January 2024 and delivered in December 2024, assuring continued monitoring to ensure durability and public safety.
