Bauchi First Lady Tasked Women to Embrace Home Economic Growth

The Wife of the Executive Governor of Bauchi State, Aisha Bala Mohammed, has urged women across the state to actively engage in agricultural practices, particularly home gardening, as a means of improving their families’ economic wellbeing and nutritional health.



The first lady made the call during the graduation ceremony of 600 women beneficiaries of the Home Gardening Agricultural Programme organised by Bauchi ACReSAL in collaboration with the Al-Muhibbah Foundation, held at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Conference Centre Bauchi.



The First Lady commended the Executive Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, for his unwavering support towards women empowerment programmes in the state.


 She also appreciated ACReSAL for training the 600 beneficiaries on modern home gardening techniques.



Dr. Aisha Bala Mohammed advised the beneficiaries to effectively utilize the knowledge and skills acquired during the training to improve their households and communities.



In their goodwill messages, the Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr. Iliyasu Aliyu Gital, and the Commissioner for Water Resources, Hon.



 Abdulrazak Nuhu Zaki, noted that ACReSAL came at a critical time when the state needs sustainable agricultural and environmental interventions. 


They called on citizens to support the project and commended the Governor for his developmental strides.



The Country Coordinator, Madina Ayuba, expressed appreciation to the Bauchi State Government, the First Lady, and all stakeholders for their continuous support.



In his welcome address, the Bauchi State Coordinator of ACReSAL, Dr. Ibrahim Kabir, stated that the programme benefited 600 women in two batches of 300 each.


 He described ACReSAL as a dream project for women, aimed at strengthening home gardening practices, reducing economic hardship, and promoting healthy living.


Highlights of the event included the presentation of starter packs and a cash support of Fifty Thousand Naira (₦50,000) to each beneficiary.
