Kallamu Pledges Effective Representation, Seeks Support for Gombe Constituency By-Election
By Abubakar Rabilu, Gombe
The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency by-election, Dr Usman Maijama’a Kallamu, has appealed to voters across the constituency to support his candidacy and vote for the party in the September 19, 2026 election.
Kallamu made the appeal on Wednesday while speaking with journalists during his campaign activities ahead of the election, which is being conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
He urged eligible voters in Gombe, Kwami and Funakaye Local Government Areas to turn out in large numbers on election day and cast their votes peacefully for the APC.
The candidate said his decision to contest the election was motivated by his desire to provide effective, responsive and people-oriented representation, while contributing to the socio-economic development and overall well-being of constituents.
Kallamu also called on his supporters, party members and other stakeholders to maintain peace throughout the electioneering period.
He urged them to shun violence, provocation and any acts capable of disrupting the peaceful conduct of the election, stressing the importance of respecting democratic processes and allowing voters to exercise their franchise freely.
The APC candidate expressed confidence in the support of the electorate, assuring constituents that, if elected, he would prioritise their interests and work towards addressing the challenges confronting the constituency.
He therefore appealed to voters to give him their mandate by voting for the APC on September 19.
INEC has scheduled September 19, 2026, for the conduct of the Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency by-election.
