JIGAWA CONTRIBUTORY PENSION SCHEME: A ROLE MODEL IN NIGERIA
The Executive Secretary, Jigawa State and Local Governments Contributory Pension Scheme, Dr. Bilyaminu Shitu Aminu has emphasized that the Jigawa state pension scheme is the role Model in Nigeria which is the pioneer contributory pension scheme in the country.
The secretary made this known while receiving the management team of the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) Kano office, led by the Area Manager, Dr. Utokiti Yunusa.
Dr. Shitu highlighted the scheme's success and its influential role in shaping similar initiatives in over 25 states. He acknowledged the dedication of the scheme’s founders and their successors, noting that strong political support has been vital in ensuring timely payment of gratuities and monthly pensions. He stated, “The Jigawa State Contributory Pension Scheme has a human face because what you get is what you contribute, ensuring pension funds for life.”
He affirmed that the Jigawa State Contributory Pension Scheme continues to lead by example, fostering a sustainable and equitable future for its contributors.
Earlier, Dr. Utokiti Yunusa, the Area Manager of the Kano ITF office, commended the scheme for its commitment to human capital development and expressed the ITF's desire to strengthen collaboration with the Jigawa State and Local Governments Contributory Pension Scheme in training initiatives.
