JGSG CONGRATULATES GALADIMA ABUBAKAR LAYA AS CHAIRMAN MIREMCO

The Jigawa State Government has congratulated Galadima Abubakar Laya on his appointment as Chairman of the State Mineral Resources and Environmental Management Committee (MIREMCO).

The Secretary to the Government of Jigawa State, Malam Bala Ibrahim, extended the congratulation on behalf of the State Government while receiving the appointee in his office.

He disclosed that the Honourable Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr. Henry Oladele Alake, announced the appointment of Galadima Laya following a recommendation by Governor, Malam Umar A. Namadi.

Malam Bala Ibrahim explained that Laya’s appointment is well-deserved, reflecting his commitment and expertise in the field of mineral resources management.

He noted that MIREMCO plays a crucial role in fostering harmonious relationships among host communities, mining operators, and government entities, as outlined in the Nigerian Minerals and Mining Act, 2007.

The SSG emphasized that Galadima Abubakar Laya’s leadership is expected to enhance collaboration, ensuring that the interests of all stakeholders are respected and prioritized. His vision and strategic approach are anticipated to drive sustainable development within the state’s mineral resources sector, paving the way for economic growth and environmental stewardship.
