Jigawa Golden Stars Football Club remains steadfast
By Umar Akilu Majeri
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Disciplinary Committee has officially ruled in favor of Jigawa Golden Stars Football Club regarding the protest against Yobe Desert FC.
The committee's decision awarded three (3) goals and three (3) points to Jigawa Golden Stars FC following the misconduct of Yobe Desert FC, which was found to have fielded a player who had accumulated three yellow cards in a single season, in clear violation of league regulations.
In response to this ruling, Yobe Desert FC has formally lodged an appeal with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) appeal committee.
Jigawa Golden Stars Football Club remains steadfast in our position and stands firmly by the decision of the NFF Disciplinary Committee. We call upon the NFF appeal committee to uphold the ruling in the interest of justice, fairness, and the sustainable development of football in Nigeria.
We believe that adherence to established rules and regulations is fundamental to the integrity of the game. Any deviation sets a dangerous precedent that undermines the progress of Nigerian football.
We therefore urge the appellate body to dismiss the appeal and affirm the original decision, thereby promoting accountability, transparency, and sporting justice.
We thank our fans and the entire people of Jigawa State for their continued support and prayers as we see this matter through.
