General Hospital Records Highest Number of Surgeries.

The Jigawa State Ministry of Health has expressed concern over reports indicating that Babura General Hospital recorded the highest number of perforation surgeries in the state, mostly attributed to typhoid fever.
The Director of Hospitals in the ministry, Dr. Mahmoud Abdulwahab, made this known to press while Opening a one Day training and the 45th Anniversary celebration of Babura General Hospital.
He stated that the ministry is taking all necessary steps to compile a comprehensive report on the cases for submission to the state government for appropriate action.
Dr. Abdulwahab commended the management and staff of the hospital for their dedication to duty and assured them , the ministry’s commitment to improving and procuring adequate working facilities, particularly for the theatre department.
In his remarks, the Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. Mahmoud Abdullahi Shariff, disclosed that about ten thousand surgeries of various cases were conducted during the year under review.
He reaffirmed that the hospital’s determination to complement the state government’s efforts in achieving its health policies and programmes through the delivery of effective healthcare services.
He also appreciated the Babura Local Government Council for its timely support.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Local Government Council, Honourable Hamisu Muhammad Garu, praised the hospital staff for their tireless humanitarian services and assured them of the council’s continued support.
During the occasion awards were presented to some community members in recognition of their contributions, as well as to dedicated staff of the hospital.
