BORNO STATE TSANGAYA EDUCATION BOARD VISITS JIGAWA FOR EXPERIENCE SHARING.

The Jigawa State Islamic Education Bureau has received a delegation from the Borno State Tsangaya Education Board on an experience-sharing visit aimed at strengthening the administration of Arabic and Tsangaya education.

 Welcoming the delegation, the Executive Secretary of the Islamic Bureau, Dr. Mubarak Abdulwahab Hassan, whom was represented by the Director of Administration and Finance, Alhaji Adamu Ibrahim, described the visit as timely and inspiring.

 He noted that it would provide an important platform for both states to exchange ideas on improving Islamic education.

In his presentation, Alhaji Adamu Ibrahim outlined the activities and mandate of the Bureau, stating that it is responsible for formulating broad policies and advising the government on matters relating to Islamic and Arabic education, as well as the moral teachings of Islam in the state.

He added that the bureau is also charged with maintaining existing public Islamiyya, Qur’anic, and Arabic schools, training and retraining staff, and planning the integration of Qur’anic and Islamic education into the formal education system.

According to him, the bureau also organizes courses, seminars, Qur’anic recitation programs, and Islamic quiz competitions to promote discussions and address issues related to Islamic and Arabic education.

He further commended the Borno State Arabic and Tsangaya Education Board for choosing Jigawa State for the visit and expressed hope that it would serve as a milestone toward establishing a cordial and lasting relationship between the two agencies.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Dr. Muhammad Maaji, Leader of the Delegation and Director of Planning, Research, and Statistics of the Borno State Arabic and Tsangaya Education Board, said the visit was aimed at learning from Jigawa State and sharing experiences on the administration of Arabic and Tsangaya education.

He explained that the visit seeks to strengthen institutional collaboration, foster mutual understanding, and exchange best practices in the development and management of Arabic and Tsangaya education between the two states.

Dr. Abubakar Maaji Muhammad commended the Jigawa State Governor, Malam (Dr.) Umar Namadi, FCA, for his commitment to Qur’anic and Islamic affairs, and also appreciated the Jigawa State Islamic Education Bureau for the warm reception accorded to the delegation.

The management of the Jigawa State Islamic Education Bureau later led the delegation on a courtesy visit to the Honourable Commissioner for Higher Education, Science and Technology, Professor Isa Yusuf Chamo, in his office.

Receiving the Deligation in his office Professor Isa Yusuf Chamo expressed delight that Borno State chose Jigawa as one of the states for experience sharing on Arabic and Tsangaya education. 

He stated that the present administration of Governor Malam Umar Namadi places strong emphasis on improving Islamic education to promote Qur’anic learning and Islamic teachings among the Muslim Ummah in the state.

The Commissioner reaffirmed the Jigawa state government’s commitment to upgrading the Tsangaya system through modern infrastructure and supportive policies.

During the visit, both parties engaged in fruitful discussions on areas of cooperation and policy implementation for the development of Arabic and Tsangaya education.

The visit concluded with a strategic meeting on educational development and a field tour of selected schools under the Jigawa State Islamic Education Bureau and Tsangaya schools, where the delegation observed Jigawa State’s model of instruction.
